Why do we cook?
In the Detox Miracle Sourcebook, Dr. Morse questions his reader, “Are the foods you are eating full of energy, or have you destroyed the energy and nutrition in your food by cooking or altering it in some way?”
Heat treatment confers neither enhancements to the nutritional profile of species-appropriate foods nor benefits to consumer health; instead, thermal processing is a detrimental practice whereby foods and the chemical and electrical structures thereof are subject to violation.
Cooking augments and agglomerates chemistry; diminishes electromagnetic energy; denatures crucial enzymes; destroys nutrients, including water-soluble vitamins; affects metabolization of food and slows elimination; binds proteins to minerals and starches; encourages rancidity and saturation of unstable, unsaturated fatty acids; causes the formation of trans-fatty acids; and causes the formation of genotoxic and carcinogenic compounds such as acrylamide, heterocyclic amines, nitrosamines, and polyaromatic hydrocarbons, thereby contributing to an increased risk of cancer and dis-ease development.
Why does man chase his appetite to calamity? Does his lust blind him? Does his hunger compel him to deny his anatomy and disregard his biological adaptations?
